For the 20th year in a row, Yoko’s Academy of Dance & Performing Arts brings its celebrated Nutcracker production to the Smith Center for the Performing Arts! Lavishly staged and costumed, the Fremont Nutcracker has been a much loved and anticipated community event since 2005. 100 children of all ages perform, from the youngest beginners to the most advanced and talented young adults. Guest stars headline the cast, and local celebrities make cameo appearances as party guests. Former State Senator Bob Wieckowski returns in his signature role as the mysterious magician Drosselmeier.

The Fremont Nutcracker is once again presented in partnership with Fremont Opera. At all performances, a full symphony orchestra will provide live music. David Sloss, music director of the Fremont Symphony from 1980 to 2012 and Artistic Director of Fremont Opera, will conduct the Fremont Opera Orchestra.
