As you get to know our singers, we think you’re going to want to know where
they are and what they’re up to.
NaGuanda Nobles, our wonderful Mimi, will be reprising
Mimi in La Bohème with Sacramento Opera next season.
In late September, Harold Gray Meers, our Rudolfo, left for
North Carolina, where he will appear as Alfredo in La Traviata.
Later this season, he will be in Montana for the role of Nemorino
in Elixir of Love. Between singing engagements he continues
teaching at Illinois Wesleyan University.
Marnie Breckenridge (Musetta) has several upcoming
appearances include Pamina in The Magic Flute at Indianapolis
Opera, a recital at Cornell University and performances this
December in Moscow with the Moscow Chamber Orchestra.
Jordan Shanahan, our Marcello in La Bohème, will be dividing
his time in the 2007-2008 season between Chicago and New York.
At the Lyric Opera of Chicago, he will be singing in productions
of La Bohème, La Traviata, Julius Caesar, and John Adams’
Dr. Atomic. He will also be at the Metropolitan Opera in New York,
covering roles in Phillip Glass’s Sanskrit opera Satyagraha.
Kirk Eichelberger (Colline) is now appearing as Monterone in
Rigoletto with the Opera Company of Philadelphia. In November,
he goes to the Washington National Opera Company, for the role
of Luis in William Bolcom’s A View from the Bridge. During the
following months, he will be at the Metropolitan Opera in New
York, appearing in Shostakovich’s The Gamblers, and covering
roles in Verdi’s Macbeth and Ernani, as well as Wagner’s Tristan.
Later in the season he will sing two small roles in Berlioz’ Les Troyens, with James Levine and the Boston Symphony.
Igor Vieira’s (Schaunard) busy schedule includes Sid in Puccini’s
La Fanciulla del West with Rimrock Opera, Figaro in The Barber
of Seville with the National Symphony in Rio de Janero in January,
along with a Guglielmo in Cosi fan Tutte with West Bay Opera
and a Don Alfonso in North Bay Opera’s production of Cosi next
spring.
